Blog!

The blog is back, kind of...

As you know, I was having a lot of trouble with advertisiers putting up lines and lines of links on my comments, so this is my alternative method of blogging! Please feel free to comment on the Guestbook or the forum, or go to the original Blogger version and do so there:- http://faeriefaye.blogspot.com/

Sun (mostly), Sea and Pebbles

Hello!

Yeah I know, im not too good at the whole regular blogging thing. Quite frankly, i'm too lazy for my own good. As it's been a while, I thought I would take the time (as I have some time off!) to write in my blog and update you all to what's been happening creatively.

Let me see...

Okay, first of all I have a new poem on the website entitled "Never Forget", in tribute to the events that occurred in New York on 9th Sept. I was watching this documentary of previously unseen footage taken mostly by people on the ground, and camera crews. A lot of it was pretty scary to watch, especially as the towers were collapsing. It was also very moving, and it moved me t the point where I, for one, didn't want to forget what happened and those who lost their lives, but I didn't want anyone else to forget the horror of it all either. This was a kind of a way to make what I saw stick in my mind, to remember those who were lost and capture the sheer horror that was felt across the world that day. One day hopefully we will live in a world without hate, without fear and without deaths of innocent people to prove a point.

Secondly, I have been working on a new photography project. Inspired by Nick (thanks dude!) I have been aking photographs of rubbish and deralict areas, to try and open peoples eyes to the damage of littering and leaving wasted spaces to decay and overgrow. This is kind of to encourage others to be more considerate when it comes to the spaces around them and coserve them, make them something more even, for future generations. The images I have so far have been uploaded under the Photography tab for you guys to have a look.
To compliment this project, i'm working on a photograhic manipulation of one of the images I took, I will let you know when it's finished!

I have also added some more creative writing, under the Creativity tab and then under Inspiration, entitled "Inspiration". I wanted to capture what it felt to be sometimes out of inspiration, and also what it feels like to find it again and hold on to it. I hope it helps anyone who is out of inspiration!

My portfolio is going very slowly; I took one look at the version I had and hated it...so i've started again! Erm...what else have I been up to...

I think thats about it for now.

Enjoy!

Untitled

Yeah, as you may (or may not) judge by the title for this blog, I really can't think of a decent title! I'm not sure if its a lack of inspiration, effort or sleep. But there it is!

Yippee! An extra long weekend! Gotta love these bank holidays...Well I am currently in Taunton, out of the mind sapping environment of Bath. Admittedly some of it is stunning and I can relax in certain places, like Vicky Park or down by the canal. On the whole; not good. But i'm not there for three days so thats good!

Anyway I am well and truely rattling on. As for the site, I haven't added much content in terms of creative stuff. But I have reshuffled the menus and re-done the forum page and the guest book as it all seemed to vanish when i tried reshuffling it all the first time! But hey, its all up and running now.

As for myself, i'm still the same as the last blog. Life seems to have frozen and the world around me seems to have sped up considerably. Everyone has started finding their feet and i'm still temp-ing, living at home and have little money! I'm a student without the education part, or so it feels. I suppose I should be grateful, and of course I am, it could be a heck of a lot worse. But I'm feeling a lil left behind still.

On the plus side I'm really becoming my own person more now, and i'm learning who I am more and more. I've been spontaneous; went out with my best friend and on another occasion went to the pub with the guys and gals from work both at short-ish notice. Had a brilliant time at both! Thanks for the good night everyone! I'm aiming to try and get out there with people I know and want to get to know better, regardless of who's going with me. I'm trying to be less dependent on others to influence my decisions. I'm becoming a lot more philosophical and taking more time over my thoughts, not rushing in and see things from the outside. In doing this I hope to help my friends if they ever need anyone to talk, rather than just use my own opinion. I think i'm really starting to learn what and who I am, which is exciting.

Other than that, not a lot is happening at the moment, but I will be sure to write when something momentous happens!

Spinning My Wheels

Long time no read!

Not a lot has changed since the last blog (hence not many entries to read), and whatever enters my head is gone by the time i have got the initiative to write it down, so...

I'm still at the MoD; my contract has been extended until June, with a high prospect of becoming a "Summer Casual" up until October. This has actually been a good thing because i've been applying to graduate schemes and relevant jobs with no luck what-so-ever, so it buys me some more time before my agency shuffles me off somewhere else. Getting some well needed office experience too i guess. Not hating it quite as much either, well its just about bareable; made a lot of friends and got to know a few people well so thats cool. Just wish the job was a lil less mind numbing.

The photography is also progressing slowly; lacking inspiration mostly. I get days where everything is beautiful and the camera doesn't do the subject justice. Others are full of grey scenery and oppressing skies. I'd really like a new camera - got my eye on the Samsung WB500- but that costs money that i dont have. Not to mention Mike and I are saving for a house, which will be awesome. Can't wait to get outta here (as in Bath) and start a life. Getting a tad fed up of the humdrum way of things here. Good things come to those who wait!

But there is a new Animal pic on the site of a beautiful fly - shimmering green with intricate wings. Also, there are some more photo manipulations of Uvonji and Nick doing what they love best...basketball ;-). The mind wandered then, I could tell! Ahem... Also going to be thing about redesigning the template myself (easier said than done, i know!) as well as maybe uploading a couple of my best essays to encourage some debate. I'll be uploading this blog straight on a page, due to the issues I was getting with porn advertisers etc. If you want to comment please start a thread in the forum or guestbook > Social Stuff.

Anyway, I've bored you enough. Laters!
